At Mitchell Group Australia (Mitchell’s), we believe in building strong relationships with our customers, our suppliers, and our people.
Over the past 75 years, Mitchell’s has established partnerships with some of the world’s leading manufacturers of premium building and architectural materials.
The result is a beautifully curated and expansive collection of market leading brands and products for the kitchen, joinery, shop fitting and design industries.
In addition to supplying high-quality materials, we offer a unique range of design and precision cutting services creating a one-stop-shop for finished products that are ready to install.
A family in a business.
This year Mitchell Group Australia is celebrating 75 years of business.
In 1949, Alex Mitchell started “Payntfast”, a small family business in Flinders Street, Melbourne. Peter Mitchell joined his father in 1954 and in 1957 Alex and Peter worked together to develop a cut-to-size Laminex operation.
In 2001, Mitchell’s expanded its’ operations by establishing Mitchell Plastics, becoming the exclusive Australian and New Zealand Distributor for Perspex®.
Fast forward to 2024 and you will find Peter’s children Brett, Marcus and Shane Mitchell continuing to work in the business. Materials and technologies may have changed over the last 75 years, but Mitchell’s values and vision remain the same,
